Joselynn Tokashiki Engstrom (she/they)
Heron’s Nest Manager & Liaison to Duwamish Tribal Services
Joselynn is a naturalist, farmer, activist and artist born on the occupied lands of the Duwamish Tribe (aka Seattle). Joselynn is 100% Hapa and their family comes from the occupied island of Okinawa and is of the Ryukyuan Peoples. JTE speaks the plant languages of the temperate and tropical regions.

Restoration Lead
Aloysious is deeply committed to re-indigenizing and decolonizing our way of being collectively. She's passionate about sharing from the wisdom of her survivorship, to move along side folx in our collective transformative/healing that is underway.
Richard (he/him)
Heron’s Nest Caretaker
Richard is a carpenter who brings a love of sustainable building practices and material reuse to his work supporting projects and maintenance at Heron’s Nest. In 2023, he built his tiny home using scrap lumber, salvaged windows, and other repurposed materials — including discarded dominoes used as shower tiles.
Kelsey (she/her)
Heron’s Nest Caretaker
Kelsey is a researcher and designer who likes making digital things at Heron’s Nest more accessible. She also cares for the eight chickens who live on site.
Viktor
Heron’s Nest Ambassador
Viktor is a border collie mix and ambassador of goodwill to Heron’s nest visitors (except for crows). He is actively seeking frisbee-throwing partners.
